Johnson County Communications Center

Olathe, Kansas

The Johnson County Communications Center was completed through a design/build project delivery method and provides state-of-the-art emergency communication capabilities for the County Sheriff’s office, Olathe Police department, and Johnson County Emergency Communications Center.

The Center provides a shared environment for use by all public safety agencies in the Country and has a hardened structure to allow emergency operations to continue without interruption during a catastrophic event. Workspace is organized around a daylit commons, which is designed as an extension of the garden. The exterior materials blend seamlessly with the County’s neighboring Sunset Drive Office Building. Sustainable features include a green roof, daylighting, low VOC and renewable materials, and site stormwater management strategies.
