In 2013, Emporia Place, a 26-unit assisted living facility in Emporia, Kansas, experienced a fire. One of the owner’s first calls was to PGAV to assist them in evaluating the damage and to help create a plan of action. Approximately half of the facility was a complete loss and the remainder had to be stripped down to the structure due to fire and water damage.

Insurance limitations dictated that the reconstructed facility must be based on the original design, however improvements were made when possible and to address necessary code upgrades. PGAV worked with the client, contractor and various code authorities to expedite the design and construction in order to return the displaced residents to their homes as soon as possible.
