Campus Planning

MidAmerica Nazarene University
Olathe, Kansas

Founded in 1966, MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) sought to advance the institution for its next 50 years through development of a new student center and athletics master plan. PGAV led the master planning services for MNU utilizing a proven, three-step process of Visioning & Programming, Alternative Strategies, and Concept Development to create exciting solutions to strengthen community through improvements to campus life, student services, recruiting, and the student-athlete experience. Concept plans and renderings developed by PGAV outlined priorities for capital investment and provided fundraising support materials to advance the university’s strategic initiatives and strengthen its identity.

The overall campus plan shows new buildings and building expansions anchored by a New Campus Center at the gateway to the 105-acre campus and athletic improvements anchored by a new Stadium Complex as the cornerstones of MNU’s campus. MNU has focused their capital investment strategies to support the goal of being a first-choice institution of higher learning in an increasingly competitive education marketplace and as the roadmap for their first ever capital campaign. PGAV developed programming and cost estimating studies for both anchor projects.
